Viime viikolla tuli kuluneeksi 25 vuotta Twin Peaksin ensiesityksestä televisiossa. Sen kunniaksi Gloriassa järjestettiin muutamana iltana Twin Peaks-henkistä fiilistelyä tosifaneille. Paikalle oli rakennettu Double R -dineri, One Eyed Jack’s, the Roadhouse, Dr Jacobyn kookospähkinöin koristeltu terapianurkkaus ja jopa orkideahuone. Alkuillasta osallistuimme aarteenetsintään, jonka tuloksena oli eräs sarjastakin tuttu erittäin kuuluisa lause. Juotuamme erittäin hyvät kupit kahvia donitsin kera dinerissa alkoikin lavalla illan varsinainen esitys. Erityismaininnan saa bändi, joka soitti niin huikean setin, että olin ihan kananlihalla. Laulajakin näytti hyvin paljon Julee Cruiselta itseltään. Ilta oli täydellinen Black Lodgea, kääpiötä ja jättiläistä myöten. Tämä upea Atelieri O. Haapalan kuva jäi itselle vielä muistoksi. Viikonloppuna minulle siteerattiin antaumuksella tätä “Hawkin” kuuluisaa lausetta keskellä katua. Eilisen vietin kotona katsoen läpi lähes koko ensimmäisen kauden vaikka kuinka monennen kerran. Viikko on siis ollut hyvin vahvasti Twin Peaksin täytteinen.
Last week was the 25th anniversary of the premiere of Twin Peaks. In honor of that, a local club here in Helsinki organized a Twin Peaks themed event for true fans. They had set up a Double R Diner, a One Eyed Jack’s, the Roadhouse, Dr Jacoby’s coconut encrusted therapy corner and even a greenroom with orchids. We participated in a Treasure Hunt, with result being an extremely famous line from the series. After drinking a cup of damn fine coffee with a donut at the diner, we got to enjoy the actual show of the evening up on the stage. A special mention goes out to the band, who played such an awesome set, that I actually got goosebumps. The singer also reminded me a lot of Julee Cruise. The evening was complete with the Black Lodge, the dwarf and the giant. This great portrait by Atelieri O. Haapala was my keepsake from the event. This past weekend someone actually quoted this famous line by “Hawk” with dedication to me in the middle of the street. I spent yesterday home watching through nearly the whole first season. It’s been a Twin Peaks kinda week.

Mä oon nyt kattonu joka päivä taas. Pitäis ehkä vähän hillitä. Alun perin kai menin jonain Laura Palmerin ja Maddie Fergusonin välimuotona, mutta kyllä toi asu halonkin kanssa toimi! 🙂

Saatiin juuri pari viikkoa sitten katsottua sarja loppuun (aloitettiin joskus joulukuussa) ja jostain syystä yhdistänkin sen suhun. Ihan huippukuva! Mä en ollut ikinä aiemmin kattonut Twin Peaksia, joten tää oli eka kerta. Muutaman kerran meni kyllä hermot, ja mietin, että pitäiskö jättää kesken. Mutta onpas sekin aukko sivistyksestä nyt tukittu 😀

Haha, miten siisti kuva! En oo koskaan kattonu Twin Peaksia sillä olin liian nuori kun se tuli telkkarista, eikä porukat luvanneet katsoa sitä, mutta muistan kuinka isosisko katto ja olin vähän kateellinen. En siis tiiä noista vermeistä muuta kuin että teemavermeet on parhaat vermeet, ja nuo sun lasit on niin hienot!!

‘The owls are not what they seem’-how cool is that?I love this TV show, it’s inspiring me to write and dream about strange things. I was wondering if there is any group of Twin Peaks fans in Helsinki. It would be interesting to meet like-minded people who enjoy this show.
