Viime aikoina olen innostunut videoista. Onneksi ystäväpiiristäni löytyy taitavia tyyppejä, jotka ovat halukkaita opettamaan minua videoeditoinnin saloihin. Pääsin sattumalta myös Matkamessujen aikana kuuntelemaan lahjakkaan saksalaisbloggaaja Smaracujan videoworkshoppia, jossa Nina kertoi miten videot saa helposti osaksi blogiaan, ja miten tehdä niistä persoonallisia. Siivosin taannoin kovalevylleni tilaa, ja löysin samalla kesällä 2014 kuvaamiani klippejä Alaskasta. Näistä klipeistä syntyi nyt ensimmäinen kokonaan itse tekemäni video. Paljon on vielä opittavaa ja harjoiteltavaa, mutta kuten editointiguruni Siiri sanoo, on tärkeintä se että videolla on fiilistä. Siispä toivon että tältä pätkältä välittyy se fiilis mikä minulla oli kun sain samoilla Alaskan luonnossa. Seuraava Alaskanmatka saattaa pian taas kolkutella ovella.

Lately I’ve gotten into making videos. Fortunately I have some talented friends, who are willing to teach me a thing or two about video editing. At the Nordic Travel Fair I also got to participate in German blogger Smaracuja’s video workshop, where Nina talked more about how easy it is to make videos part of your blog and how to make them more interesting. A while back I was cleaning out my hard drive and happened to stumble upon some clips I’d filmed in Alaska in the summer of 2014. These clips have now made for my first ever solo video project. I still have a lot to learn and tons of practice ahead, but as my editing guru Siiri says, the most important thing is that a video conveys a feeling. So hopefully you’ll get to experience how I felt meandering in the Alaskan wilderness. The next trip over might soon be looming at the door.
