Rowena Crest

All of the minerals elements made
Dancing in light a particular shade
Of cornflower blue
Oh, how it suits you
Clear window through
But you look into the sky

— “Cornflower Blue” by Great Lake Swimmers

Olin nähnyt tämän paikan alunperin videolla. Ohi olin ajanut lukuisia kertoja.

I had originally seen this place on video and driven past it dozens of times. But finally last spring we found the right little road, which took us up to the top along small back roads. Up top along with the beautiful river gorge scenery, we found a meadow full of cornflowers. As we wandered among the flowers, I finally got the sense that summer had begun. That day we were still in for some more of Oregon’s breathtaking views. This was just the beginning.

Kukkakedon keskeltä löysin yhden violetin ruiskaunokin. Koin jonkinlaista yhteenkuuluvuutta sen kanssa. Tavallani samanlainen, omalla tavallani erilainen.

In the meadow I found one purple cornflower. I felt some kind of likeness with it. In a way just like everyone else, but still different in my own way.
