Kosteikolta onkin hyvä siirtyä jäätikölle viettämään aurinkoista iltapäivää. Jäätikkö on aina kaunis vuodenajasta riippumatta, mutta talvella on se etu että jään yli pääsee helpommin liikkumaan ja oikaisemaan. Lämpötila on jäätiköllä aina hieman viileämpi kuin muualla kaupungissa, mutta aurinkoisena päivänä tätä vaihtelua tuskin huomaa. Tällä kertaa tuli melkein liiankin kuuma ja onnistuin jossain vaiheessa kadottamaan käsineeni matkan varrelle, löytääkseni sen sitten lopulta paluumatkalla. Kuriositeettinä olivat tällä kertaa Nugget Falls -vesiputousten ylle majautuneet lumivuohet, joista olisi varmasti saanut pidemmällä objektiivilla loistokuvia. Nyt ne näkyvät vain pieninä vaaleina pisteinä vuorenreunalla.

From the wetlands it’s easy to move over to the glacier to spend a sunny afternoon. The glacier is always beautiful indifferent of the season, but during winter you have the advantage of being able to walk on ice and cutting corners. The temperature is always a bit colder than elsewhere, but on a sunny day you barely notice the difference. This time I almost got too warm and managed to lose my glove somewhere along the way, just to find it on the way back. This time’s curiosity were the mountain goats nestled above the Nugget Falls. They would probably have provided an excellent shot for someone with a telelens, now you can barely see them as tiny white dots on the side of the mountain.
